Rolex Explorer 1016

Our vintage and rare Rolex Explorer, reference 1016 , is amongst the last of the original Explorers of this reference. Featuring a 36mm stainless steel case and stainless steel bracelet, this example is presented in excellent condition and unpolished prior to retail, this lovely Explorer has its original tritium matte hands and coeval dial, and comes with inner and outer box, calendar 1986/7, red chronometer swing tag, Your Rolex Oyster booklet (1986) as well as punched warranty papers (CC160) with 1016 sticker attached to the front, and type, showing that it was first retailed in December 1986 by a recognised authorised Rolex dealer, Watches of Switzerland in New Bond Street , London. A proper professional model, the reference 1016 was discontinued after some 30 years of production in 1989, this survivor would make a worthy addition to any serious sports Rolex collection.
