Our Smiths 6B/ 9614045 Made In England, is a general service wristwatch issues to the Royal Air Force, and with a date of issue 1967. Powered by a 17 jewel manually wound movement, this Smiths 6B features a 35mm (excluding crown) case (37mm inc crown) and with fixed bars , a new nato strap has been fitted and a full service undertaken prior to retail. This variant is significantly rare than the issued W10 Smiths (which was to the army) and it is estimated that only 1000 of these were issued in 1967, followed by 250 in 1968, as a two year program. A very attractive example, with coeval patination to the original tritium dial and hands, this English watch would make a superb addition to a military or generally focussed collection, and at a fraction of the price of the better known dirty dozen watches, albeit this is arguably rarer.
